Romeo Beckham for Burberry!

Romeo Beckham, second son to Victoria and David Beckham has been unveiled as the new face for the Burberry SS13 collection. Following in his parents fashion forward footsteps, who better to take capture 10 year old Romeo's first official modelling images than world renowned photographer Mario Testino. With supers such as Kate Moss, the late great Princess Diana and Prince William and Kate Middleton to name but a few on Mario's captured list, Romeo fits in nicely as the son of two fashion icons set to make his own stamp in the fashion world.

According to Christopher Bailey the chief creative officer Romeo 'stole the show'. Judging by the images below, Romeo is certainly comfortable in front of the lense, a successful future in modelling is guaranteed if he wishes to follow that path.

Editor's Picks: Top Five Winter Essentials

Winter is fast approaching, even though there may be a strong chill in the air doesn't mean that you can't go into the season in style. Below are my top picks to aid in keeping you warm and 'on trend' this Winter.

1. WINTER COAT

A great coat wraps up a great outfit. Although some may be pricey, look at this piece as an investment. Pick the right coat and you will be guaranteed a durable coat you can wear again in future Winters/seasons to come.

Style Tip: really pay attention to your outfit when pairing up a coat, an evening gown would look better for instance with option 2. and 3. below as opposed to 1. 4. and 5. Petite ladies opt for fitted coats to ensure that they do not swamp your frame.

Leather Trench

Beige Jacket

Cacoon coat

Military Trench
Biker Coat
Editor's Top Pick: Leather Trench.

2. KNITWEAR

Whether with jeans or over a dress, the chunky knit is the item that will form the basis of our outfits this Winter. From keeping warm by the fireside to socialising the chunky knit is certainly an essential.

Style Tip: Cinche baggy oversized cardigans or jumpers with a belt at the waist for a more tailored look.

Lace front fisherman

Baroque

Ombre

Sweatshirt
Editor's Top Pick: Lace front fisherman.

3. SCARF

Scarves are great for accenting outfits not to mention keeping our necks warm. They can really lift an outfit when colours and prints are chosen to compliment.

Style Tip: Inject life into an otherwise plain outfit by opting for a printed scarf. For more styling options you may choose to opt for a Pashmina/Cashmere shawls as it can be worn as a shawl as well as a scarf.

Editors Top Pick: Burgundy Snood.

4. HAT

Hats are great for adding more personality to your ensemble; marrying fashion and function. Great for those bad hair days we ladies can relate to and perfect for preventing the cold wind rushing pass the ears. For Autumn why not try turbans, fedoras and berets. During Winter opt for more warmer options as depicted above. There are a lot of options available; which ever you pick make sure you have fun with it, your head will most certainly thank you!

Style Tip: Add beanies to dress down an outfit, don't be afraid to combine it with sequins, snazzy fit flare dresses or a crisp white tuxedo shirt - the combo certainly looks great!

Fur Cossack

 Burgundy Beanie

Aztec Beanie
Faux Fur
Editors Top pick: Faux Fur.

5. BOOTS

Ankle boots, over the knee boots, there are plenty of styles to keep you treading in snow and any ice sludges in style.

Style Tip: To avoid bunches or awkward folds skinny jeans work best with any kind of boot as they fit snugly giving a smooth appearance.

 Willow

Crocodile

Studded Western

Paul Brodie
Editors Top pick: Willow.

So there you have it, my top 5 Winter Essentials. Whatever you wear this Winter stay warm and layer up.

Trendbook: Autumn 2012

With Autumn well and truly here, our new trend forecast is also here. The trends predicted this season are below..

BURGUNDY
Tommy Hilfiger - New York Fashion Week

We can't get enough of this berry deep shade.
Burgundy the 'it' colour of the season.

Style tip: Really set this shade off with crisp whites for a gorgeous colour contrast or wear it in leather! Another hot trend this SEASON.

BEJEWELLED
Lanvin - Paris Fashion Week

"Diamonds are a girls best friend".
It's a 'blingtastic' affair from hologram jewels (prints of jewels) to gem studded pieces to sequin, this Autumn bejewelled is cranked up to a maximum.

Style tip: If you are not keen on 'dripping in bling' why not opt for statement pieces that incorporates this trend such as a necklace over a plain shift or t shirt that's still packing a SPARKLE.

BAROQUE
Aquilano Romandi - Milan Fashion Week

Bold and decadent, the luxurious appeal.

Style tip: Mix it with leather for a Balmain rock n' roll VIBE.

HERITAGE
Ralph Lauren - New York Fashion Week

English Heritage goes chic.

Style tip: Wear this look with bowler caps for that all round 'English' feel. Petite ladies opt for tweeds over checks as it's less likely to swamp your FRAME.

GOTHIC ROMANCE
Dolce & Gabanna - Milan Fashion Week.
Lace goes back to dark.

Style tip: Adding gold to black lace makes it less dark and gives off a more luxurious FEEL

FLORALS
Dolce & Gabbana - Milan Fashion Week

Bolder, edgier and in full bloom.
Style tip: Adding faux fur to this trend gives this look will certainly keep you warm whilst adding more DIMENSION.

WALLPAPER PRINTS
Kenzo - New York Fashion Week
Print, print and more print.
They say "the only rule to follow is pile it on!"

Style tip: 'Rule breakers' break up the prints by introducing a piece that is the same colour or close to the background colour on the selected print you wish to wear and introduce a complimentary colour for a more polished take on MOD FASHION.

NEW NATIVE
Isabel Marant - Paris Fashion Week 2012

That good old country western.

Style tip: Adding a chunky knit or coat in this trend or accessories is enough to
make us wanna say 'yeehaw'. Opting with earthy tones will create for a more warmer overall APPEARANCE.
MILITARY CHIC
Victoria Beckham - New York Fashion Week
This ones certainly got our attention.
Military returns this season with a chic command.

Style tip: Opt for more tailored and sophisticated pieces for a look that's strong, powerful yet FEMININE.

LEATHER
Kevork Kiledjan - Getty

Leather is BIG this season, but did it really ever go out of style?

Style tip: Wear it with jersey fabrics for the sports luxe feel. If you don't have any leather in your wardrobe now is the time to invest. Why not start with a leather jacket; a staple piece from season to season we guarantee will still be rocking. Match leather with more softer pieces such as chiffon, frills, lace and ruffles. 'Lady like leather' is the new SEXY.

FUTURISTIC
Gambattista Valli - Milan Fashion Week 2012
Futuristic is a combo of sleek shapes and hard edges.

Style tip: From prints, high tech fabrics to metallics, keep this trend clean and simple with minimal accessories. Try playing around with textures and clashing high shine separates against softer pieces such as chiffon or sheer FABRICS.

MINIMALIST
Jill Sander - Milan Fashion Week

It's all about clean lines and structure.

Style tip: Mix neutrals with bright colours such as lime for a modern take on effortless chic.

Other key trends this autumn include: peplum, red, blue and black, lace, winter white, oriental prints, cacoon coats, midi dresses, pencil skirts, new native, boho, collars, earthy tones, statement pieces, reptile prints, jumpsuits, leather gloves, galaxy prints, structured and tailored pieces.

Haute Tresses: Taking Care of Relaxed Hair

Relaxing is the process of chemically straightening afro textured hair with the ingredient of Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) /Lithium Hydroxide (No-Lye). This is a very stressful process which breaks the bonds of Afro textured hair and sometimes even weakens the hair. For Relaxed tresses to stay healthy and damaged free following these steps which will help to prevent your hair from breakage.
      1. Allow time to lapse between relaxers. Relaxing your hair every 8-12 weeks, this helps for the relaxer not to overlap. Relaxing your hair every time you see new growth will cause breakage to your hair. By using the time frame of 8-12 weeks it provides a descent amount of time in between relaxers as the chemicals are very harsh. Products that help extend your relaxed hair are Honey Caramel Treatment, Mizani Thermasmooth Treatment and Gro Straight Shampoo and Conditioner by relaxing your hair less often your hair will become healthier longer and stronger.

    2. Conditioning and deep conditioning.
This should be done on a weekly basis try to use shampoos that do not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate and Ammonium Sulfate these ingredients tend to make the hair dry. Opt for a sulphate free shampoo such as Millcreek Shampoo which will not strip out your hairs natural oils. Before washing saturate your hair with natural oils such as coconut oil, Jamaican Castor Oil or Amla oil leave in the hair before washing with shampoo and conditioner.

      3. Co-wash with conditioner. If you feel the hair is too dry ditch the shampoo and co-wash with conditioner only, this will make the hair moist. Balance your conditioners according to the protein and moisture needs of your hair.

      4. Limit heat use. Try to avoid using too much heat: use little heat as possible on relaxed hair. When using a blow dryer put the setting on low or medium. The best way to dry the hair is to air dry with a hooded dryer where the heat is not direct. Try roller setting or wrapping the hair instead which gives the hair more body than applying heat.
    Hair with roller set applied.
      5. Moisturise. For relaxed hair use moisturisers that are water based such as S-Curl activator or a really good leave in conditioner.
      S-Curl activator.
      6. Choice of Comb. Use wide tooth combs for relaxed hair instead of thin ones and hard brush bristles.

      Wide tooth comb

      7. Satin. Sleep with a satin scarf on your head or a satin or silk pillowcase to keep the moisture locked into your hair.
    Silk pillowcase

    8. Stay hydrated. Last but not least, drink plenty of water daily. Also add vitamins to regimen such as Biotin, MSM, Omega 3 Oil or multivitamin for hair growth.
